I feel, therefore I am. |
I am a college senior chasing a dream and career in beauty and fashion PR. I use this space to post pictures I love, talk about trends and all things fashion, and to write down all the emotions and thoughts I don't get to saying a loud each day. It is all here for you, the viewer, to enjoy. |
My personal favorite advertisement. Perfectly done, Google - kudos.
Writing skills are so imperative to any communication student’s success. These skills may get us A’s in college, but what they REALLY get us is a J-O-B. Whether pursuing a career in journalism, or chasing the so-called glamour of Public Relations, you must know how to write. But how loosely can we use that term? What exactly does it mean to know how to write? Well folks, this definition has sure changed ever since that popular baby named social media was born.
Welcome to the world social media, you have now changed our lives. Not only is it important to perfect the formatting and language needed to write an attention grabbing, information overloaded, and professional press release but now we’re also asked to shove content into a 140-character tweet and call it interesting. In order to experience any type of success you must know how to differentiate, and perfect the two. Your writing needs to transition from the formal language of a proposal to the personal language that will attract and gain facebook ‘likes’. You must know how to write short, sweet, and effectively and also know how to fill a five-page report enclosing all of your media hits for the month to the client. We must not only be good writers, we must be versatile writers.
Most college communication programs require their students to take the standard writing classes where students learn a general format for press releases, etc. but there is a need for more. Isn’t there always a need for more? Now, a class that explores the types of writing a communication professional is required to have perfected should be offered. A class that transitions between each type of writing throughout the semester to mold the students mind, and teach them how to flick a switch on and change styles. In the professional field you may be writing a new business proposal in the morning, and by mid afternoon you are tweeting about a celebrity wearing your clients latest designs at fashion week.
The job market is bleak at best, and unfortunately the light at the end of the tunnel doesn’t seem to be shinning all to bright. But, that is no excuse. If you go in for an interview and present the company with such kick-ass writing talent and sell yourself as a brand and a tool that they cannot say no to, you’ll be starting on Monday.

I’m certainly not the most popular person on tumblr, but i’ve heard from a few loyal followers about my lack-o-post, aka major slack job on my part. I jotted down a few things that I wanted to be my “new year resolutions” (even though I hate that term and its hurting my fingers to even write it) and keeping up with my blog was the first one. So screw January 1st, i’m starting NOW.

To all of you men who awkwardly walk down the train isles with your heads low, carrying a huge bouquet of flowers for your wife - I know you’re embarrassed, but I hope you know that you look like more of a man than the guy without them.
You are doing the right thing. A little thing, but the right thing.
Thank you.
I am in love with her gold and coral YSL ring. I’ve had my eye on this bad boy for a while now, and have been searching for a good dupe - YSL + College Student = Neva’ gunna happen.
Oh and I’ll take a pair of those cutie suede shorts she’s rockin’. Wait, am I wishing for summer? Stop me now …
Happy Thursday!

I am here to announce, via all the entertainment news outlets, Kim Kardashian is getting a freakin’ divorce. Yep. She filed for divorce this morning from the ever so lovely, Kris Hump-whatever. After less than three months spent together sharing their genuine love and commitment to one another, it is O-V-E-R.
I can’t say I am surprised the marriage ended, but I am surprised it is this soon. I mean, you’d think they’d wait at least a few more months, or until E! stoped playing their wedding special every other hour. I mean com’on, fake it for a little longer Kim. We all know your good at that, no pun intended … sort of.
Im reading mixed reviews, some suggesting that the marriage was all for the media, and they set Kim and the Ogar, oh excuse me I mean Kris, up. Who knows the real story. Her PR people will make her come out eventually with some shpeel about this or that, but we probably wont ever know the real story. But, guilty as charged, I am looking forward to hearing what she comes up with ..
Anyway, while we wait for the most likely BS story of what happened to cut their endless love short, who thinks Kim and Kris take New York will still air?
Awkward.
Cute, casual, and alarmingly sleek.
